Zeppelin is fine if you like boy bands and there nothing to be ashamed of if you like that kind of music. But for the more sophisticated tend to listen to the Stones

But that said, you can't compare the Stones with Zeppelin in the first place. They are in two completely different ballparks. That's like trying to compare ABBA with Rush.

The sophistication is in it’s simplicity. But you’re right the two bands are of different genres. The Stones were a rock band with deep roots into blues and Chuck Berry. Zeppelin had similar roots but trended more towards harder rock. Somewhat of a precursor to metal. This is the correct response. End of discussion. I will give the Stones credit for their longevity, but in terms of talent, there is no comparison. The Stones are a group of moderately talented guys, with a hell of a front man, that stuck to a formula. And that formula has worked for them. Zep was the perfect fusion of 4 ridiculously talented individuals who weren't afraid to explore new ideas and did things the way they wanted to, record companies and promoters be damned. No 2 Zep albums sounded alike because they were never satisfied and always looking for something new. BEST ROCK BAND EVER.
