Let's see.
1. The electorate pay income taxes.
2. The GOP lowered income taxes for everyone on Dec 22, 2017.
3. People like for their taxes to go down.
4. Everyone in the electorate liked when the GOP lowered income taxes.

Can you follow that, dummy?

Look deeper into the long term entanglements attached to your precious "cuts".

sure thing. Lowering the % of each bracket is a huge entanglement that is very very complicated. for morons.

same thing with increasing the standard deduction. such a hard concept to explain to the dumb.

All of the individual tax provisions of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) expire at the end of 2025. Among the changes: Individual income tax rates will revert to their 2017 levels. The standard deduction will be cut roughly in half, the personal exemption will return while the child tax credit (CTC) will be cut.
Even a harder concept to explain to the intentionally ignorant. He literally asked you to educate yourself and you said, "Nah."

So the tax cuts that benefited everyone will expire. And? That wasnt some sort of secret.
More than likely that had to be included to get the tax loving Dims on board.
Since you think this is some sort of "gotcha!", you'll be cheering for a renewal and/or extension of the cuts, right?

Since you volunteered, the title of intentionally ignorant is also yours. Congratulations. Here's some further information you can choose to ignore that feeds right into what Salty was referencing:
While the legislation made some tax cuts to corporate profit permanent, lowered individual tax rates will expire on Dec. 31, 2025, and will revert to pre-TCJA levels.

so you felt the need to prove my point? thanks.

* individual income tax rates were lowered (check).

* the standard deduction was roughly cut in half (check).

Wow, again you think you have a "gotcha". Cool, so some were permanent. Good. What exactly do you think you have here? Like I said, you'll be cheering for those individual tax cuts to be extended, right?

He asked you to examine what the strings are to the cuts you flaunted, you know, to actually understand what it is you think is popular. But you and Tweedledum chose to be intentionally ignorant so that you can pretend all is hunky dory. At least the Cheez knows he's on a losing hand which is why he's admitting the cuts aren't permanent for the electorate like they are for corporate profits. You, I'm not sure you actually know what you're arguing for at this point. Your intentional ignorance for anything not vaccine related is rapidly engulfing your handle on everything else.

And now for Tweedledum. Electorate's tax cuts were not made permanent, unlike corporate donors and their profits. That all feeds into what Salty was talking about. So answer this: when the population has their taxes raised by default because the people who pushed it through only did it for short term political gain but damn sure protected their high rolling donors permanently, how popular do you think that same plan will be? I'm sure you're banking on the disinformation train to blame everyone else but yourselves, but go ahead and be honest for once and tell the class how popular all things being equal that would make your boys.

my god you are a dumb cunt.

Fortunately 70 republicans have introduced a bill to make the tax cuts permanent. HR 976.

https://www.congress.gov/bill/118th-con ... 1%22%5D%7D

70 Republicans.

Any of those Republicans stay in town to fund the government or... nah? Salty's point stands, especially if all you got to retort with is a bill that isn't passed. But hey, you finally decided to look deeper which is what he asked you to do. Kudos for finally doing some homework.

maybe dot can figure out the math: when the house is split 221 republicans and 212 democrats and there are 70 republicans in favor of making the tax cuts permanent, then how many democrats would it take to make this bill pass?

Wrong equation. What you were challenged on is:
saltydog wrote: Fri Sep 22, 2023 4:03 pm Tell me what GOP policy that's been passed in the past decade that you would consider popular with the electorate.

And then it wasn't until I interjected that you finally did just that. And from there it's a lot of pretending a bill not passed is the same as making corporate profits permanent. So I'll ask you as well, tell me how popular the electorate is gonna find their expiring tax cuts versus corporate profits being safeguarded. Go ahead, clearly Cheez can't be honest but I'll give you a chance to do so. Tell us all how much the general public is gonna like corporate donors tax brackets being protected over their own.
