I don't think there has ever in the history been a house with as small of a majority as there is right now. But you always have to play the hand you are dealt. And that's what McCarthy had to do. The fact that 100% of the democratic caucus was willing to throw the baby out with the bath water is where we are right now.
For realz. All it would have taken is for a small handful of Democrats to NOT vote with the MAGA group. Instead they chose to vote in lockstep with the "radicals" they claim are a "Danger to democracy".

it was made the day that he brought his name up for vacating the post of speaker. the only point of the video was to point out every single thought he had about why he allowed it to be voted on, why, what he thought the democrats would do, etc. its a shame you don't watch things like this because staying dumb is never the right option.

What actually happened is the Democrats voted for the CR thus preventing the government shutdown. Maybe he'd have a leg to stand on to blame them if it was their doing in the first place that created the mess. It wasn't though, it was his and your party's.
