In my lifetime, living in the southwest corner of the nation, a lot of employers have taken advantage of undocumented workers. The political left here sees them as future voters. I'd say they both have played a part in the problem.

I believe that we should have a better guest worker program in the U.S. A lot of industries rely on the labor.

I have seen a lot of Americans take advantage of undocumented workers. It gets blamed on the employers, but how much is a person going to pay for a strawberry? Or a sidewalk? Or an orange? The consumer determines the price and the employers are left figuring out how to provide it at that price. Undocumented workers have always filled that gap in this country. and, YES, we need some kind of guest worker program to be restarted to sustain that need.

BUT, none of us, no one, has seen this level of flood gate mentality and this much of a surge of undocumented people into our country. Ever. This will take generations to get our arms around and in the end it will have changed our country.

My experience has been in the hospitality industry. Everyone from large corporations to mom and pops have taken advantage of cheap labor and people unwilling to complain about sub-standard working conditions.

I agree the current policy is ridiculous, and will have far reaching ramifications.
