And Democrats have literally voted 13 times to keep the government closed which is the reason the SNAP benefits have stopped.
It takes 60 votes to pass the Clean Resolution that already passed the House. All Republicans except Rand Paul voted for it. All Democrats voted "NO", and continue to vote "NO" which keeps the government closed.

Your government remains closed because Republicans are refusing to drop ending ACA subsidies.
You know this. Stop playing silly spin games.

The Democrats made another offer just today. The Republicans said no.

It's a Republican shutdown.
Stop playing silly spin games.

That is the Democrat spin, yes. Congrats on getting your talking points right!

Here are the actual facts though:
The Clean Resolution* that reopens the government has already passed the House. It takes 60 votes in the Senate to pass the CR. Every single R has voted for this, except Rand Paul, to reopen the government while every single Democrat has voted to keep the government closed. This has happened 13 times now. Democrats are trying to tie the subsidies to the CR while R's are rightfully saying that those subsidies are a separate issue [see below] and should be settled outside of the CR. This is by every definition the Democrats shutdown as they have the power to reopen and negotiate the subsidies outside of the CR- which they should be. Your talking points are shit.

*A "clean resolution" is a temporary funding bill for the government that contains no unrelated policy "riders" or controversial provisions. In the context of U.S. politics, it's most often a continuing resolution (CR) that prevents a government shutdown by extending funding at current levels for a short period, giving lawmakers more time to negotiate a full-year budget.

Your party can end the shutdown by literally voting to end the shutdown. You want the R's to end the shutdown by abolishing centuries of precedent and a cornerstone of the senate process specifically included by the framers to help prevent mob rule by a simple majority.

What, you don't like Lenin's own thoughts on Socialism?

"Yes, Vladimir Lenin did explicitly state that the goal of socialism is communism. The most direct and commonly cited quote comes from his 1917 work The State and Revolution (Chapter 5, Section 3), where he wrote: "The goal of socialism is communism."
In the original Russian: «Цель социализма — коммунизм».This statement reflects Lenin's view, rooted in Marxist theory, that socialism is a transitional stage between capitalism and the higher phase of communist society (full communism), during which the state would eventually "wither away." He was paraphrasing and reinforcing Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels, who described socialism/communism as having lower and higher phases in Critique of the Gotha Programme (1875).The quote appears in numerous editions of Lenin's collected works (e.g., Volume 25 of the English edition published by Progress Publishers, Moscow) and is widely reproduced in scholarly sources on Marxist-Leninist theory. It is not disputed among historians of socialism or Soviet studies."
