I don't know why, but I have no interest in purchasing a Smartphone.Flip handles my phone calls. Watching the entire population of the Earth walking around with their heads down watching their phones has no appeal to me.

Let me just be clear. The smartphone is probably the greatest invention since the VHS tape for porn. I'm 57 years old. I've had to cross the country with Rand McNally maps. I had to buy a newspaper every day to keep up what's going on. If I had a question pop into my curious little brain pan I had to just let it go because I sure wasn't going to the fucking library and research the dewey decimal system to find an answer.

It is now all at my fingertips. Everything and anything my little heart desires is right here a couple taps away. I'm bored at the doctor, I can read. Oil change at the dealer....lets watch Netflix. Watch porn? perfect.....still have my right hand to jerk off with. I haven't had to worry about getting lost in the car in a decade.

I agree, I saw an article about auroras extending further south so I looked up an aurora visibility map and could have easily sent the map to someone I know in Rochester and another person in Edmonton. During hurricane Humberto I was texting my brother comparing relative conditions and watching a weather map as the storm was passing.

Ive been curious ad to origins and destinations of jets flying over so I go to flightaware and check them out.

I use GPS to find obscure Bermuda roads.

There's just too much use for them, practical and unnecessary as well, to be a Luddite.

I felt the same way about my phone, all it needed to do was make calls. Then my brother and sister-in-law gave me an iPhone 6. The damn thing is getting used more every day. The calender has been very helpful.. I also text more since I have a full keyboard now.
