Never understood the objection. I see it a lot at motels too.

Most well-managed parking lots will allow only "head-on" parking. There are a number of reasons for this, but the principal reasons are liability, uniformity in traffic flow and improved safety.
Head-on parking gives drivers the ability to pull into a parking space in a single motion, and with the flow of traffic. Rear-end parking requires the driver to advance slightly past the space, turn away from it, and then back into the space. This can be dangerous when a trailing vehicle is unaware of the driver's intent to back into a space.
Backing into a parking space (i.e. driving a car in reverse) also requires greater visual acuity, balance and careful skill in order to avoid accidentally scraping an adjacent parked car. Backing into parking spaces increases the likelihood of accidents and vehicle damage, thus increasing the parking lot owner's liability.
And there you are.

But, why do some people get so up in marks about backing in? I for one always do it because it's easier to leave wherever. Some people in the FB community groups get all pissy about it!!
I've wondered this myself. One aspect of a lot of the driving ability of so many people is that they can barely drive the car forward, much less try to drive it backwards. Apparently it's mostly due to parking enforcement officers not wanting to get out of their li'l putt-putt carts to check licence tags. Seems a big job of PE is to look up tags and check tag stickers. Here in Florida, like a lot of states, there is only a back-end plate, so the PE occifer would have to lug their fat bodies out of the cart and pump their chubby legs to saunter to the back and see the plate. Man, that's just too much work.
I learned this when I first moved here and visited a city lot. I didn't notice the "no back-in parking" sign, so proceeded to do so, it's frankly a natural habit of mine to back-in park. It's just easier and quicker to do so. Came back out to two tickets: one for the back-in parking, and another for an expired tag. Thing was, my car still had its Texas tag, and sure it was expired. The tag belongs to the state that issued it and subject to that state's laws. So PE really has no business enforcing Florida/city law onto car not registered in the state. How would a Florida PE person know Texas law? But enforce they did, fun part was that I never paid either ticket, since I sold the car a month later. Fuck the City of Orlando.

i would suspect its because some states don't require a front license plate. so if you are backed in a police or security guard can't see your license plate.
