Caravagio
I really like Caravaggio. Really interesting play between light and dark.

You may want to make a note... 24 Nov 2021, PBS, Secrets of the Dead, "The Caravaggio Heist"
Speaking of Caravaggio....... HOLY CRAP! $547 million!

Trajan's Column in Rome. Erected in 100 AD. Has an interior circular staircase that reaches the observation platform at the top. Outside has a spiral bas relief depicting a Roman war Trajan led against somebody. Originally had a statue of Trajan on top that was lost in the middle ages. A pope installed a statue of St Paul (Peter?) back in the 1500's.

If you go to the Museo della Civita in EUR (just south of Rome), they have an exhibit on this column. There are castings of the column reliefs and they are displayed along a hallway as if they had been unraveled off the column. Its pretty neat.

Very cool, thanks. Things we see today still standing outdoors after 2-3 centuries are all weathered and worn down. You know they shone brilliantly originally.

Very cool video. Thanks. Kept reading the column celebrated Trajan's war on the "Cicerians". Your video informed it was "Danes". Modern sense of course.
