I'm 48 and single living in San Diego. I find that women in my dating range fit into three general catagories fitness wise. Very committed to fitness and health(maybe 15%), care about their looks and are carefull with diet but aren't working out six days a week (20%), or just have let it go say if you don't like my body shape that's on you(the rest). I personally fall into the second group, and rarely date outside of the second group.

When I was in my 20's we used to have "dinosaur hunts". We'd get several guys together and make a bet (usually beer or whatever) and whoever could find the oldest woman and convince the rest of us that she "thought" you wanted to take her home, would win.

I don't see anything bitter about Charlie's post. He and I both live in Ca, and this is the culture out here. It's not good or bad, just the way it is.
