While I agree with you, keep in mind that people call NASCAR drivers athletes these days (they're not).

i have only ever been to one live Nascar event. It was a high roller guy (long story) that had a highrise balcony apartment on turn 2. Anyway, before the race he got some of us a tour of the pit area. Which was really cool for a guy that had never been and had never had much access to see or even know what all goes on in that area. Anyway, while we are down there the crowd starts to build. like you know something is going on but you don't know what? we kept getting pushed further and further into a tighter and tighter group of people. Then these bouncer type guys make a path and the drivers start to walk out. Bo Jackson, OJ Simpson or Jim Brown. It's impossible to say. There are some seriously freakish soccer athletes but a ton of the football players ran track plus played 2 high level sports.

Will the temperature be over 100 degrees in your car? Will you lose 6-10 pounds of water weight? Will you be reaching speeds of 180 mph and sustaining that speed for hours? I considered him. Left him off only because a lot of people didn't think he was all that great. Certainly in the running but I'd pick Bo Jackson over him any day of the week.
