Can't put them all out. So unless infrastructure is threatened then ya, let it burn. And the forest actually recovers fairly quickly.

It's part of why Smokey Bear says "To Prevent Wildfires" now instead of "Prevent Forest Fires." When the underbrush etc gets too dense, forestry management folks actually set controlled burns.

Its bad enough we have to deal with you sending us your God-forsaken frigid arctic air every winter now we have to deal with this smoke too. Officials have recommended everyone stay indoors for about the last 3 or 4 days now. Its hazy AF right now.

Up here in the Northwestern parts of Jersey they're a problem too. I've seen a few down south here but we rarely have issues with them...They are more protected here. Down in N.
