Winter activities

All the news from the peanut gallery and where all the nasty trash talk fails miserably.
It can get NSFW-ish here: you have been warned!

Last time I went ice fishing I caught 25lbs. Came home, put it in the frying pan and damn near drowned.

they don't properly teach us in texas how to keep your fucking feet warm while standing on a frozen lake. I hated that part of it.

that's like trying to slide a boot on with a towel wrapped around your foot. You would have to buy bigger boots.

Winter boots need to be bigger, and slightly loose. Insulation is your friend. I put a base pair on under my wool socks. Wool is still about to retain 80% of its insulating value even when wet. Alpaca wool is supposed to be even better.

Merino wool is the way to go. The hood on my military polar parka is lined with it. Good to -60C.

The southerners don't understand how much the northern women like being warmed up on a cold night.

Nothing beats Merino wool. It's the gold standard.

The only time I get close to being cold is when moving between two warm places, the house and the shop.

Floor heat keeps it never less than 50 on the coldest days and a couple of radiant propane heaters bring it up to about 60 which is just right for working.

Heated water running through tubes in the floor. Often Under tile or wooden flooring’s to prevent puncture of the tubing underneath.
