Hot take: a griddle is better for toasting than a toaster. The resulting texture is better since the bread doesn't dry out as much.

So I should stop putting grilled cheese sandwiches in my toaster?

kitchen tip: if you keep the slice of cheese under your arm for at least 15 minutes before you put the bread into the toaster, then when the toast is done, you put the cheese between the toast slices and its pretty damn good.

That would work with processed cheese... but with real cheese, you need to keep it between your thighs pressed up against your balls.
That adds a certain saltiness to the cheese once you put it into the toaster.

Back on topic...

I love waffles, I just don't like the work involved, and I simply can't make them as good as even the average diner can make. I have neither the time nor a well seasoned waffle maker to bother on them. The best waffles around Orlando are at KeKe's and well worth the price and drive.

So when I cook at home, it's pancakes, always. You can pre-mix and store the dry batter, then wet the batter and cook with a cast iron pan to perfection while the bacon is sizzling in the oven and the omelette is slowly setting in.

By the way: eggs (scrambled or over-medium), bacon or a good sausage, and pancakes are not just breakfast. Brunch, eleveneses, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner, supper, late evening snack, whatever, that's a menu for every single minute of the dining schedule.
