They could have applied an "old fashioned" cure. While the lady is talking to him, have the guy go and call 3 buddies at the bar across the street. Meet the jerk as he leaves, take him out back and kick his everloving ass. No constitutional rights being violated and "cure" the dumbass of ever wanting to do it again.
