i'm talking about using some common sense on some things. it has "seemed" like a good idea for a month now to wear a mask. But everyone said "no, a mask will kill you faster than anything". Or that's basically what they said. It was like this nervous tic to jump down your throat if you mentioned wearing a mask and especially if you said you might use a scarf or t shirt as a mask.

finally common sense prevailed.

that same common sense will prevail when they start letting some people go back to work. As if a florist is more subjected to a virus at work than at home or going to the freaking grocery store.
It was partly because the Chinese and Koreans were making fun of us for not requiring masks.

Just got an email from Wells Fargo and they are re-opening their online signup for the PPP $$. Some time today. My guy says this time there isn't a $10 billion cap on what they can enroll. BUT, I think I would still jump on it quickly if you can.

2 Months in here, and the only restriction is no more that 10 in a group. Everybody working here (with the social distancing). Stores open, cafes and restaurants open with take out. Hardly a bother. Schools have been closed since the end of Spring break. Don't how they are going to handle that to complete the semester.

Kids here are taking their classes online.

Apparently the application most have been using for class attendance is a real security disaster though. Zoom?

is anyone else sick to death of hearing reporters say that "these mitigation methods, this social distancing seems to be having an effect on the spread of this virus".

No shit? who could have imagined that? you mean, we have proven that the spread of a virus that is spread from person to person can be slowed down by keeping people from contacting other people? i need more data to confirm this. please tell me more about this.

Given the exceptionally high volume of requests we have already received, we will not be able to accept any additional requests for a loan through the Paycheck Protection Program.

Don't worry, they will. And any little hiccup they can perceive or expert they can present, and it'll seem like forever.

P.S. Though they really don't have much of anything else to report on. Almost feel sorry for them...almost ;)

I guess we will have to follow the NYC lead and start digging graves in our park. We will be ready for you. Knowing our hatred of Yankees, each grave will have a urinal installed above.

There are a shit ton of labs doing research on COVID 19 right now and I assume the way they can do that is that they have a way to reproduce the virus.

If its possible to reproduce the virus, then is it also possible to reproduce the antibodies that are in plasma from people that recovered?

I read up on that, and it seemed like using these antibodies risks the recipient's body treating them as invaders.

Here's an interesting article regarding antibody drugs research:
