I think technically it is both an unmanned drone and a helicopter....... Some drones are quadcopters. Etc....

I think you are right. A helicopter us anything that uses a rotor to provide lift and thrust. And a drone can be a propelled by that or a drone could also be like an airplane and use propellers or turbines.

So, while all (unmanned) helicopters are drones, not all drones are helicopters. This seems more like the answer that Sheldon would give.
