The wife and I watched the first three episodes of American Primeval last night, and -holy shit!-

Even just that much of the show is a wild ride, and we're looking forward to the rest of it, maybe tonight.

Probably a group of fur trappers who have been isolated for a tad too long.
It serves as a rather nice plot device to give Mommy a chance to play the hero.
I've also heard that it's an homage to Wes Craven's film The Hills Have Eyes.
