Another good one is have a place with say 20 employees.....new manager comes in with his six sigma black belt and says we will lay off 6 employees permanently and threaten the others to pick up the slack or they are next. Overtime is still cheaper than benefits for 6 additional employees. When the overworked and harassed workers can no longer take it and quit. Just hire a new guy at a way cheaper starting rate. Make some poor slub train the next guy....possibly his replacement.....but don't let the work slack. Or your next on the chopping block. If the manager plays his cards right the government will pay the business for hiring the new guy.....always keep a rotating crop of new trainees.
