WTF??? No onions, yellow ones preferably?! And some garlic and a little oregano? Without the onions, the beans will be bland. Tasteless, like cardboard. They add a layer to the flavor. Now, if you're talking about raw white onions, I can agree.

if you cook something with really finely chopped onions for several hours in a crockpot, you won't end up with any onions. only the flavor. i'm not a fan of onions if there are any pieces left. same with the jalapenos.

ill add cucumber, bell peppers and watermelon to this list
