I’ve been trying to find a statue of a US president erected while he was in office. Anyone know of one?

King George was ruler at the time the USA declared independence. Tearing his statue down isn’t a valid comparison to tearing down a statue of a historical figure.

How many 2020 USA high school graduates know about a stonewall Jackson? I was taught about him but that was back in the 70’s. Who’s to say the fade hasn’t started already?

Crispus Attucks--Never taught about in my History class. First patriot killed for American freedom was black.

Crispus Attucks ( c. 1723 – March 5, 1770) was an American stevedore of African and Native American descent, widely regarded as the first person killed in the Boston Massacre and thus the first American killed in the American Revolution

When I was in elementary school we read Johnny Tremain. In the book The Boston Massacre is mentioned but the name Crispus Attucks was not. The murdered were given fictional names. Mr. Murphy stopped the class and was sure to tell us about Mr. Attucks.

How many 2020 USA high school graduates know and understand the basic precepts of the theory of biological evolution? It's the essential framework of modern biological science, like the periodic chart is to chemistry. It was taught openly and completely when I was in senior high school in the late 70's, the science teachers had no worry about having to leave out entire details about it because one parent or another would bitch loudly. By the late 90's when my nephew attended the same school I did, he was taught almost nothing about it, except that it was "one 'theory' of several about the origins of life" (which it has almost nothing to do with). My son who graduated in 2012 learned not a single damn thing about it, since it wasn't mentioned in the least in any of his science classes. Who's to say the fade hadn't already started?

Now Gone With The Wind is being erased, for a while, anyhow. And the first black Academy Award along with it. Nice job!
It’s on Amazon and google play if you have a great need to watch it. Netflix international as well.

That’s where I got the narrative. What a bunch of crybabies some have become. So much for a real conversation about race.

From what I recall Mammy was the least-flawed Of ALL the characters in the flick.

I guess Blazing Saddles is doomed. Never a funnier, more accurate depiction of really dumb racist attitudes.

You've got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the New West. You know...morons.
One of the most effective attacks on racism in all it's ludicrous stupidity, and people want to censor it, or worse yet ban it.
