I answered it in posts 6 and 9.
I don't necessarily agree with the dismantling of the Department but by any measure the Department as a whole has been a failure. I'd rather see it overhauled and fixed. Education is an area where I am OK with a measure of Federal control.
If you bought something that was supposed to make your life better but has consistently made your life worse for 46 straight years you'd probably think something might be amiss, right?
Congress has always been good with tinkering,
DOE has a pretty small budget compared to other agencies and I still don’t get the hate nor the urgency to dismantle it
