What I do know is there are standards for reading, writing, math and physical education.

And should include: world history, US history, civics (how the government works) (make that how the government should work), basic economics (how to balance a checking account, how interest works), the sciences (chemistry, mechanics, biology), State history for whatever state the student resides in, what was called home economics when I was in school (how to cook simple meals, how to iron clothes, how to sew button on, Shopping for nutritious ingredients, what nutrition is).

That would be great, my only concern is a minimal standard uniformly for the country
