I have never bought something and will never buy something because of commercials. I will also not be butthurt about a commercial and not buy. Of course, ads pander. ALL ads pander. That's the fucking point of an ad. In fact, everything on TV panders in an attempt to attract the largest audience possible. I do not believe a single ad or show cares, is actually sympathetic to any cause, altruistic, or remotely charitable in any way that they feel wont give them a monetary return or beneficial to their community standing that leads to a long term gain of profits.
