So, I moved from West Texas. Haven't seen snow in 2-3 years. Hoping the new location has "warmer" winter time. Counting today, that's 2 snows in 10 days and down to deep freeze tonight. LOL
Have they shut down the state yet? Has the National Guard been called in? Is FEMA on its way?CentralTexasCrude wrote: ↑Sun Jan 10, 2021 9:59 pmSo, I moved from West Texas. i can only speak for myself, but a deep freeze around here is when it doesn't get above 30 for about 3 or 4 days in a row. things don't have a chance to thaw out. hoses split. pot holes erupt. etc.Blast wrote: ↑Mon Jan 11, 2021 1:41 amWait, what do you call a deep freeze? The worst I ever experienced was in Midland in W Texas, say 1986. 4 days it never got over 14. 25 days it never got over freezing. Brutal. It was amazing how you ended up adjusting to it, though. 6 weeks later I'm in shorts only inside and I hear it just hit the lowest temp ever recorded there (-11 or something) and decide to step outside in just shorts and check it out. It didn't last long.Animal wrote: ↑Mon Jan 11, 2021 1:56 ami can only speak for myself, but a deep freeze around here is when it doesn't get above 30 for about 3 or 4 days in a row. things don't have a chance to thaw out. hoses split. pot holes erupt. etc.Blast wrote: ↑Mon Jan 11, 2021 1:41 amWait, what do you call a deep freeze? i get a little worried about my antelope. they aren't built for sub freezing weather. they can tolerate it in small doses, but they were expecting up to 7 inches of snow there. but temps in the upper 30's and 40's in the coming days, below freezing at night. i hope they make it.CentralTexasCrude wrote: ↑Mon Jan 11, 2021 2:32 amThe worst I ever experienced was in Midland in W Texas, say 1986. 4 days it never got over 14. 25 days it never got over freezing.
