Grilling is hot and fast, BBQ is low and slow.

BBQ is on coals, otherwise you may as well be cooking it in an oven. My brother got me a top of the line gas one, so now I have to pretend it's awesome and use it when he comes over.

When I'm up at the lake I do most of my cooking over a camp fire.
I cook everything that way. Steak, burgers, hot dogs, potatoes, corn on the cob, zucchini, asperagas, peppers, you name it.
I've always considered it grilling.

what kind of grate setup do you use to put the food on to cook over the fire?

It is a Weber. Could be a domestic one, I dunno. Never taken much of an interest in fancy grills, a firepit and a grate gets the job done.

Waiting, I'm guessing it'll be a long engagement. Her folks are all in Canada and my brothers are scattered round the world, so we can't really plan anything while travel restrictions keep coming and going.
