I think it's the travel restrictions themselves. Just travel would have been hit, but now they are basically locking shit down everywhere.Flumper wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2020 10:05 pmYeah, but holy shit. 40%? that's insane.necronomous wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2020 10:04 pmPeople travel less because of virus and travel restrictions because of virus.Flumper wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2020 9:35 pmi'm not understanding this crash in the American Airlines stock in the past month or so. there is something different about this. I suspect Biker's comment about a union deal is behind it. I'm sure the corona thing isn't helping matters, but this one is not in sync with the market.

i'm not talking about a bailout because of that. i'm talking about a company asking for government compensation in order to limit business to help control a pandemic. i have never heard that being used before, but it makes sense. i'm sure a good group of lawyers could make a case for it.Biker wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2020 10:25 pmThey made 4 billion last year so a bailout isn’t even being discussednecronomous wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2020 10:23 pmHope not.Flumper wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2020 10:09 pmsmells like a bailout in the works.necronomous wrote: ↑Mon Mar 02, 2020 10:07 pm

https://www.yahoo.com/news/more-testing ... 09638.htmlSEATTLE (AP) — An increase in testing for the coronavirus began shedding light Monday on how the illness has spread in the United States, including among nursing home residents in one Washington state facility.
New diagnoses in several states pushed the tally of COVID-19 cases past 100, and New Hampshire reported its first case, raising the total of affected states to 11. Seattle officials announced four more deaths, bringing the total in the U.S. to six.

No, absolutely no case for it. It could be done voluntarily by the gummint as a bailout, but you can't sue for measures taken for national security. The markets always freak out on crap like this- small fry. The serious investors always have one motto at #1/ Don't sweat the day-day, week-week, month-month. There is now talk of canceling SXSW.
Austin won't be on board for that, 350 million in revenue will override any safety concerns.

Twitter and Facebook cancelled their attendance. If a few more do that, it's over. Facebook also cancelled several international conventions.BigRedRetard wrote: ↑Tue Mar 03, 2020 12:24 amCompanies are cutting all travel. The problem isn't that if you get it you might die. The problem companies are facing is if you get it and the government finds out, you and the people you work with could be quarantined for 2 weeks. Imagine if all the people in a corporate jet were quarantined.

They shut down a mall here for 24 hours for disinfecting because someone:
https://www.ksat.com/news/local/2020/03 ... ng-center/
- was in quarantine from the Chinese cruise ship
- tested negative twice
- was released
- went to the mall
- stayed at a hotel
- felt sick
- went back to quarantine voluntarily to get tested
- tested positive
