Yeah....I went to a wedding on Halloween. I brought with me my small Cybershot Sony (small). I keep it with a small tripod in a small black case. Circumstances with a friend of a friend who moved shortly thereafter. I think she took my small camera. I don't just "lose" stuff like that.
Bummer. New meaning to Wedding Crashers.

That river runs through town. Last Sunday it was frozen totally, when we hit -37C. First time I've seen that in 6 1/2 years. It's starting to warm a bit now so the ducks can use it again.
Sucks aboot the camera. I just recently got a cheap SLR I want to try out but it's been too cold and I don't want the LCD screen to freeze. Had that happen to an Olympia a few years back.

Good God all mighty I can't wrap my mind around cold like that lol. Good call about not bringing your camera out in it! Fuck that noise, I'm not trying to break my shit lol. Regarding my stolen camera, it's karma most likely. I'm still hoping I'm wrong and it turns up somewhere, idk
The other problem is telescopes. Best time for viewing is Winter. You have to acclimatize your telescope otherwise the lens fogs up and you've wasted your time.
