Our gyms are still closed but somehow governor MILF-mer thinks casinos being open is totally cool.
Couldn't be the tax revenue or anything I'm sure.

Again, what in the world can the US Senate do in helping small business owners impacted by local and state restrictions?CaptQuint wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2020 3:09 pmNot talking about local guidelines you condescending prick, I'm talking about the lack of action of The US Senate

Not one single US Senator has had a single thing to do with any of the policies in place in Texas for Covid. Not one. its all been the governor and the municipal and county elected officials that have set the policies.

There is no enforcement mechanism for top down nannyism. Why don’t you just hole up in your holler until it’s safe to come out?
Maybe there are others, like folks who aren’t afraid of their own shadow, who can deal with this without mammy.

Not nearly as much as reasonable and logical local policies would. But then the COVID tyrants would have to relinquish power so we cant do thatCaptQuint wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2020 3:23 pmSo you're saying money won't help them?Biker wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2020 3:22 pmOh, so just print money again. Re: Wuhan Coronavirus
What is sad and funny is how little you understand about anything you post.
Right now Texas is at 44 deaths per 100,000 people. Pennsylvania is at 60 dead per 100,000 people. New Jersey is at 179 dead per 100,000.
Texas will have to have 5,000 more deaths to catch up to Pennsylvania. Do you realize how crazy that sounds? We would have to have 4 times more people die than we have already to catch up to New Jersey.
do just a small amount of research before you make yourself look stupid.

Do you folks have limitations on capacity? And mask requirements indoors (obviously you can't wear masks while you eat though)?Flumper wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2020 3:02 pmthat is crazy. we have never closed our restaurants since June and the numbers just keep dropping. As you know, NJ really got hammered early on and was a victim of lack of experience in dealing with the plague. We've had outdoor dining for awhile now, and now that we've finally got the infection rate down to less than one person per, things are starting to reopen.
We HAD to shut down for awhile, because our hospitals were dangerously close to being swamped, and production of safety gear hadn't ramped up yet.
Now that we know more about the plague, safety measures to control it are more settled. Hopefully we can run something like a normal economy without shutting down again, as long as we take reasonable precautions.

Our restaurants are running at 50% capacity (I think). And, yes, its indoor dining and has been since at least the first of June (maybe before that).FSchmertz wrote: ↑Tue Sep 01, 2020 3:52 pmDo you folks have limitations on capacity? Anyway, the rules are that you have to wear a mask when you go inside. All the people that work there wear masks. Once you are seated you can take your mask off and you don't have to put it back on until you leave.
The tables are spaced much farther apart, with either half of them removed or half of them marked with something that tells you not to sit there. There are no things on the table (salt shaker, sugar, napkins, etc). You get a napking and silver ware when you order and most places give you a paper menu that is thrown away. Most places are using a cut down menu, with maybe half as many choices as before.
