Our chief doctor appointed to the virus team by governor MILF-mer proudly announced how great we're doing and how we're meeting all the guidelines. The governor however still says it's not good enough. Casinos are ok to open but gyms remain closed and small businesses are still required to generally run under capacity. It's abundantly clear that this is no longer about "flattening the curve". We flattened the shit out of it weeks ago and hospitals are laying people off. This virus is 100% political now. She's gonna lose this state for Biden by trying to hurt Trump. Even her supporters barely try to defend her anymore.
Thats what I'm afraid of and have been saying so for weeks. These tyrannical Democrat governors are using this virus to overstep their bounds
Not one lawsuit has proven that correct. Governors have lots of power in most states, even more during a public health crisis.
I'm not talking about legal authority. There is a perception problem with blue state governors and their excess use of power. This will play out once the college football season starts and if it goes like I think it will (well), the optics of red states playing football while blue states are holding their collective dicks in their hand, its going to be awful for Biden
but they have riots, looting, and burning property to entertain everyone while we play football?

People more concerned with a game than a pandemic are stupid people
It will go over great in PA where Penn State is shutdown while Pitt is playing. Good luck with that

Maybe Pelosi could get that secret hair salon she has out in California that has figured out how to rid an area of the virus. Maybe she could get the salon owner to advise these governors on precautions that you could take and have humans live through a football game.
When will you all accept that it isn't a partisan fault for the mess you are in?
The fault is that you are incapable of working together and NOT politicizing EVERYTHING.
the left wing fruit loops are the ones that politicized this. they have used every aspect of the virus to attack Trump. Its despicable. And now, to hear those douche bags sit in front of cameras and say things like "Trump will be the first president with fewer jobs at the end of his term than on the first day of his term". They have done everything in their power to shut jobs down. They even accused Trump of making the economy more of a priority than the lives of the elderly. They can't have it both ways. They either get the fewest deaths possible along with jobs (which is why the republican states have done) or they get what they have in the blue states along with way less jobs.

And the right is always extending a helping hand to the left?
We have three strong parties in Canada. And the Green party gets some play as well. I havent heard word one about which party wants this or blames any other party. Our PM is a Liberal. Our Ontario Premiere is Conservative. They have cooperated every step of the way during the virus.
Ill say it again. Your biggest problem is neither side trusts the other.

The "Active Cases" category of the stats is the most laughable of them all.
Right now the CDC's determination for a person to return to work is 2 weeks after they got their first test showing they had Covid. So, if you don't die, you are no longer "active" after 2 weeks.
According to Worldometer, the US has had 6,514,231 cases. Over the past 2 weeks, the US has been running around 40,000 cases per day. For 2 weeks that would be 560,000 cases that should be "active". To double check that, you can go back 2 weeks and the US was around 5,900,000 cases. So, 600,000 active cases would be a good estimatet.
Worldometer lists the US Active cases at 2,523,429 right now. That is so far off its laughable. For that to be the case, everyone since July 20th would still have to be sick.

BTW....active cases include those with no symptoms or mild symptoms whom the CDC has stated need not be tested
