After listening to that babbling fucking retard talking about tariffs after the election I decided to get out of the market. I pulled my money out in December 2024. I put it in a 3.75% GIC (the same as a US certificate of deposit) for 1 year. I just found the papers and looked up what day I pulled my money out. It was December 4th. I looked up what the highest the Dow ever closed, and it was December 4 2024. I laughed. I got lucky pulling it that day. I got my wife and her father to put their investments into the same thing for 1 year, in late December.

If the market starts to go up again, I can pull my money, forego the 3.75% with no penalty, and get back into the market. My Spidey senses were tingling, that if that 6 times bankrupt idiot did all the things he said he would do, things could go south. He did, and they did.

The futures market is down another 795, to 37,067 tonight.

I do know this: on the 31st of March I had greater than $1,000,000 in in my 401k, and it had been trending up nicely the previous four years. As of this Monday, there is less than that now, and by quite a significant percentage. 45 had large ups and down during his previous four years, and by in large it wasn't much of an increase between the beginning of his term and the end. Biden kept a smooth increase that made a definite difference between the beginning and end of his term, and I was happy. 47 has destroyed it. I'm not happy now.

47 is showing himself to be a disaster to our economy, and you thought you could trust him again. And that despite his known business record, where seemingly his only profit was with his name. And not even much then. If this is how he'll run the country, it's going to be nothing but disappointing by 2028.
