I don't know if you've ever heard of "Rich Rebuilds" on Youtube he has bought wrecked Teslas and rebuilt them. With no help from Tesla whatsoever. They wouldn't sell him parts, or provide him with any diagnostic information. After doing all that, now Rich Rebuilds is building his own Tesla repair garage, to fix other people's Teslas. The most surprising thing about all of that, he is an Urbanite!! Yep, you heard me right!!PimpDaddy wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 8:27 pmSounds right. He pays $420 a year + gets some free charging. He said he is able to set a time for his charging to start at home, so he has it set for 1 am so he can get the lowest rates.PimpDaddy wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 4:25 pm I just asked my friend about his (older) Tesla. On average it only gets about 200 miles on a charge. At a charging station at the Mall, it costs about $10, so in my previous post, my 10,000 miles would cost $500 instead of $1200 in gas. Cheaper at home to charge, but still not a huge difference over a year to me.
Regardless, people are lined up to buy one!

He was on a Joe Rogan podcast. Pretty cool story. If I remember, Tesla wanted to charge him $600 for a duplicate key? I don't know if Tesla is just a bunch of dinks, or if they just don't have the extra parts to spare.

Yeah, I see you are a couple- 3 years behind on what's really going on in the World. Surging production mainly from the shale revolution in the Permian Basin where I live has upended the entire global market force. Last Sept, the US, for the 1st time in 60 years, became the top oil/ gas producing country on Earth. Production is expected to double again here by 2025. 10 years ago, we imported 70% of our oil from the Middle East. Today, it's like 8%. 3 pipeline projects constructed through my area in the last 6 months (each costing $1 Billion each- completion dates-end of 2109) will be sending 3-4 million barrels of oil every day to the Corpus Christi TX export facility on the Gulf Coast. CC is spending almost $1B dredging to accommodate the largest oil tankers on earth. 3 more pipelines on the drawing board. Forecast is by 2025, the US will exporting more oil than OPEC combined.

You are literally spewing ignorance with every post. Let's be clear. Nobody gives a shit what Canada is doing with their energy strategy. You have a country larger than us and 37 millions idiots too stupid to move to Florida for the warmth. Our country has almost 10X the population, and that's why it matters on the World stage. To be honest I think it needs to be a full spectrum of options for electricity and the one that gets the least credit is nuclear. Solar and wind need further development to become cost effective on their own without the government money propping it up.
Here's a link to some information about our electricity sources. https://www.neb-one.gc.ca/nrg/sttstc/lc ... c-eng.html

Doesn't matter to me, that you would even consider lashing out in a reasonable discussion leads me to wonder if you aren't suffering from late stage syphilis, some lingering effects of the canadian winter madness, or possibly even an imbalance in your blood/Male syrup content. If it's any of the three please get yourself help. If you were just looking to be a prick, well that's not very Canadian of you.kwebber wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 7:57 pmI just needed to know where you were coming from with your comment, and whether I should lash out, or respond reasonably. I'll respond reasonably. There are risks and impacts with every kind of electricity generating method. I would suggest that issues with some fish would be low on the impact scale. Our provincial government is pretty protective when it comes to fish stock. That shit is monitored pretty closely. When you look at other methods of generating electricity, like coal and gas burning plants and their pollution, and the fears of nuclear meltdowns, I would say concerns over fish stock is pretty low in terms of ecological concerns. As for wind, or solar, although they are great as a supplement, I don't think we can rely on them to provide a reliable source of electricity in my province.Blast wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 11:24 am Can't just add to the conversation? Thanks for the info on the fisheries impacts, I know there are areas where they don't have the fish ladders and have begun removing dams that really served no purpose and it had had a remarkably positive effect on the fisheries in those areas. I'm glad we do agree that there are areas where wind and solar are not practical. Another aspect to consider is energy storage. Banks of batteries, lead acid or lithium ion, can only pull in so much and I'm not sure if the infrastructure is capable of transferring the energy generated from it source to other areas in cities and towns. Can anyone fill in this blank?
If life were fair every guy's dick would be the same size.
Re: Tesla
Bingo. They only talk the front serving savings. Tusk is totally focused on the production. The electrical recharge stations seem to be going well. Even have a "Level 2" recharge station here in town (whatever that means). Repair facilities nationwide on the production schedule he's forcasting has to be in the tens of billions. Still doesn't address the parts situation. Has to be a quarter century catch up.PimpDaddy wrote: ↑Mon Jun 17, 2019 2:30 pm I drive about 10,000 miles a year. At 25 mpg and $3/gallon, that is $1200 in gas. Not enough money to cover the cost of a Tesla upgrade.
Until there are lots of companies offering a large variety of models, I am not interested in paying the extra $ to look like every other Tesla on the road. Even worse, I've heard the same stories about repairs on a Telsa. Need to figure that out...

“You want to see a bird cemetery? Go under a windmill sometime. You’ll see the saddest... you got every type of bird,” Trump insisted.
“You know, in California you go to jail for five years if you kill a bald eagle. You go under a windmill, you see them all over the place,” he continued, calling it “not a good situation.”
“But that’s what [Democrats] were counting on, wind,” Trump concluded. “When the wind doesn’t blow, you don’t watch television that night.”
