Kinda like watching those dudes who just chuck a hunk of wood on a lathe and start spinning it down. It always ends up a bowl, vase or cup but I could watch those fuckers all day.QillerDaemon wrote: ↑Fri Nov 29, 2019 1:12 am https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMrMVI ... 0-MWq26gqw
This guy just restores old rusty stuff, and it is so hypnotic to watch!
I only watched the first one, but that was cool! I didn't know machining a washer could be so sexy.CHEEZY17 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 29, 2019 4:01 amKinda like watching those dudes who just chuck a hunk of wood on a lathe and start spinning it down. True, but this guy's whole point to his channel is restoration of old stuff, and stuff so rusty or broken down that it takes some craft to put back together in (almost) original form. Sort of like restoring an old Model T Ford or '57 Chevy muscle car.Flumper wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2019 11:02 pmQillerDaemon wrote: ↑Fri Nov 29, 2019 1:12 am https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMrMVI ... 0-MWq26gqw

those big lever action rebar cutters are only about $200 at a good tool supply. I've got a few of them. They aren't as good as a quickie saw, but if you are limited to manpower, they do the job.
This guy has nicer equipment than some big budget machine shops I've worked in. I love the comments too. "I make new one."QillerDaemon wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2019 2:09 pmTrue, but this guy's whole point to his channel is restoration of old stuff, and stuff so rusty or broken down that it takes some craft to put back together in (almost) original form. i think the "whole point" is that you can make so much $$ off of well put together youtube videos that you can afford to invest the time, effort, and resources that this guy did to restore a $200 tool.QillerDaemon wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2019 2:09 pm
