How much do you pay for Netflix?

You can sure check out the "Queen's Gambit". Chess and frilly Royal dresses. What's not to love.

"The Card Counter"
Check it out. It's a pretty good little movie. It's not going to win any Oscars but it's well worth a watch if you've got an hour and a half to spare.

"Cry Macho"
It's not very good at all. A snooze-fest from start to finish. It's a shame this could end up being Clint Eastwood's last film. He deserves to go out better than this.

Have you seen any of the Hell House movies on Prime? The first one is at least worth a watch. I'm a slut for found footage movies tho
Woah, Woah hold up Geist. I better take over the discussion here. I have watched, studied and disected these movies for years and can explain why found footage is so mesmerizing, addicting and important. You might watch a FF Horror film and get caught up in the spooks and plot twists and think the directors goal is to scare you, have you tell your friends about it and make more money. I promise you that is not the case. These directors are on a mission from God and have complete altruistic intentions. Now I can't share everything I know on one post and even if I could it would take years to learn what I already know.

Why don't we start the discussion with my top 10 FF "horror" films.

1)Blair Witch Project (lived up to the hype)
2)The Last Excorcism
3)PA 1
4)VHS
5))PA 2
6)VHS 2
7)Grave Encounters
8)Hell House
9)The Bay
10)Devils Pass

I have only seen the first Hell House. Grave Encounters 2 was ok but I imagine Hell House sequels will have a similar drop. Similar to PA 3 and on. Watchable but forgettable.
Solid list, but I couldn't get into Blair Witch or PA. Cloverfield is towards the top of mine because it checks the scifi and Kaiju boxes as well

I liked the first two for reasons I cannot explain. I also liked Leaving DC for the same unknown reason.

Leaving DC was great considering what it was. Just a guy who bought a house in the country and wanted to film a ff movie with 2 cameras. It was surprisingly good for the budget

The wife and I have been moving slowly thru the seasons of Lucifer. It's mindless and silly fluff, but very engaging. Lucifer ie The Devil aka Satan :red: has left Hell to live in LA owing a popular night club. Meets a former actress who's now a LAPD detective (who has a mysterious effect on him) and he becomes her partner in solving crimes. He has a special way of interviewing people. He has interactions with his good angel brother, Cain, his psychologist, and also a strange part of the series' pantheon, his mother. Who knew Gawd had a wife? He also brings one of his minions, who is a masterful torturer (and hot as all hell!) with him. Somehow, this is all part of Marvel's comic book universe.

Again, it's all pointless and crazy stupid, makes little sense, shows awful police work, terribly acted by some, but it's great fun to watch! The main actor playing Lucifer is stereotypically British. And the women in it, esp Maze the demon, are hot, Hot, HOT! 8-)

agree, that show is just amusing and entertaining without trying to change social and personal opinions like so much trash on network TV try to do. and yeah Maze has some of the best lines besides being hot.

"Old Henry"

I enjoyed this one quite a bit. The acting is spot on. The Directing is clean. Wonderful cinematography. And the script is terrific.
If you're a fan of minimalist westerns in the vein of "Hostiles" and "Bone Tomahawk" from a few years ago, you'll probably enjoy this one.

Hell House is good, As Above So Below is pretty great, The Taking of Deborah Logan is solid too, but I really like Last Exorcist.

Few other decent films in this genre. REC is great fun, remade in English if you must (it’s not as good), Borderlands is really spooky with a great end, Kill List is absolutely creepy as fuck (not found footage though), Dog Soldiers I will always recommend cause it’s funny with great action, real good lads humour.

Dune (2021)

It's visually stunning (really, it is). But the rest of the film is a tiring slog with no depth or soul. It's like the director told everyone to pretend that they are a cardboard cutout. It's as emotionless as a Twilight movie. The only person in this film you give a shit about is Jason Mamoa... who is also the only person in this film that shows a facial expression.
The script has been condensed enough for people who haven't read the book to not get lost in the meandering story, but the whole thing feels like one of those terrible George Lucas Star Wars prequels.

I'm sure this movie will make shit loads of money, but at its core, it's nothing but Vin Diesel/Dwayne Johnson fluff.
