Next time I'm in Publix I might pick up a bag, but we're not a big potato chip eating family, anyway. We make our own tortilla chips from cut up corn tortillas and lightly fry them.

We used to have our own native brand of Florida grown and made potato chips, Bull's Chips, from Spuds (Hastings) FL, where there are large patches of potatoes grown. They were -not- healthy chips, though, not with the way they were made. Sadly now closed, but the potato farm is still there.
Saw this on an article about Utz closing a manufacturing plant and warehouse in Grand Rapids MI next year:

"Utz Brands is based in Hanover and makes snacks under a number of names, including Utz, On the Border Chips and Dips, Golden Flake, Zapp’s, Boulder Canyon, Hawaiian Brand, and Tortiyahs!, among others."

Back in my college days in Northwest IN and Chicagoland, I would have said Jays chips were the most popular. They went out of business/got absorbed by others sometime in the early 2000s I think

Like Boulder Canyon chips, I've never heard of Grillo's pickles or seen their products in local Florida grocery stores.
We're a big Bubbies pickles (and puddles of sperm) eating family here. Their bread 'n butter chips are to die for!

oh: so we have a word filter for "s-auerkraut", do we? :|

I never heard of them either, but I just looked at the "Where to buy" link on their site and they seem available to purchase all over here in Maryland. Looks like they are a refrigerated pickle which is probably why I never see them. I just look in the aisles.

Lol, those deer are crazy. Back in 2013, I was driving down the highway in my Corolla, a deer came bounding out from the left, ran and tried to leap over my car. His body hit at the roofline. Talk about coming to a screeching stop. He ended up on the hood, he tried to get up and run away but got hit again and run over by about 40 cars. Turned into furry hamburger.

And Great White Shark for MD? WTF? You see them occasionally out at Ocean City but there are no recorded attacks.

There’s been reports of mountain lion being spotted around Granbury.

Since they didn’t specify “non-human“ animals shouldn’t every state be humans?

Alligators are hardly the most dangerous animal in Florida despite being the state's icon for danger. In terms of a reptile, the crocodiles found in the Everglades are vicious motherfuckers, far more so than a gator. Give it its space, a gator will leave you alone; a croc will hunt your dumb ass down if it catches a whiff of you stomping around. Bonus fact: the south tip of Florida is the only place in the US where gators and crocs share living space, and the only place in the US where crocs are found at all.

Besides those, brown recluse and black widow spiders hurt a hell of a lot more people than gators every year. Jellyfish and rattlesnakes kill more people than gators by far. If you leave its cubs alone, a mother black bear won't usually bother you, and the males are real wimps. Even if you do get caught by a gator, they kill relatively few people.
If you can't be a good example, you can still serve as a horrible warning.
