A West Texas Nursing Home Sent Its COVID-Positive Residents Elsewhere. Now Two of Them Are Dead.
Texas allows nursing homes to voluntarily accept COVID-positive patients from hospitals and other nursing homes. But there are no additional safeguards for the people sent there, and some of the facilities have a history of breaking rules.

THE FACTS: Not so much. Pfizer notably did not accept government money to develop, test or expand manufacturing capacity under Trump’s Operation Warp Speed initiative to quickly find a vaccine and treatments for the disease sweeping the country.BigRedRetard wrote: ↑Wed Dec 02, 2020 1:40 pm The cUcK becomes the first Western country to approve a covid vaccine. you were probably busy googling everything about TRump and missed the news, but it turns out that Pfizer was IN FACT part of Operation Warp Speed and got quite a lot of $$$ from the US Government. They said they had no idea what that nut was talking about who put out that story.CaptQuint wrote: ↑Thu Dec 03, 2020 2:56 amTHE FACTS: Not so much. In fact, Pfizer partnered with the vaccine’s original developer, Germany’s BioNTech, in March and the following month announced the first human study in Germany. The White House announced Operation Warp Speed in May.

In July, Pfizer got a $1.95 billion deal with the government’s Operation Warp Speed, the multiagency effort to rush a vaccine to market, to deliver 100 million doses of the vaccine. The arrangement is an advance-purchase agreement, meaning that the company won’t get paid until they deliver the vaccines. Pfizer did not accept federal funding to help develop or manufacture the vaccine, unlike front-runners Moderna and AstraZeneca.Stapes wrote: ↑Thu Dec 03, 2020 5:28 am They got their funding from Germany not us.
We only have a contract with them for the first batch of 100 million doses
Under the arrangement, the federal government would obtain that first batch for $1.95 billion, or about $20 a dose, with the rights to acquire up to 500 million more, or 600 million total. Americans would receive the vaccine for free. Before it could be distributed, it would need emergency approval by the Food and Drug Administration. But the U.S. government does not pay the nearly $2 billion until the drug is approved and the first 100 million doses are delivered.
Austin Mayor Flew Private To Cabo San Lucas Where He Filmed Himself Telling Citizens To ‘Stay Home’
The mayor of Austin, Texas flew private to Cabo San Lucas where he filmed himself telling citizens to “stay home.”
Austin Mayor Steve Adler hosted 20 guests at an outdoor wedding and reception for his daughter at a hotel in downtown Austin in early November, the American-Statesman reported. The following day he boarded a private jet with seven of the wedding guests and flew to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico for vacation at the family timeshare.
“We need to stay home if you can,” Adler said in a Facebook video message to Austin residents. “This is not the time to relax. We are going to be looking really closely. … We may have to close things down if we are not careful.”

But the U.S. government does not pay the nearly $2 billion until the drug is approved and the first 100 million doses are delivered.
In an interview on Sunday, Kathrin Jansen, a senior vice president and the head of vaccine research and development at Pfizer, said, “We were never part of the Warp Speed,” adding, “we have never taken any money from the U.S. government, or from anyone.”
On Monday, a spokeswoman for Pfizer clarified that the company is part of Operation Warp Speed as a supplier of a potential coronavirus vaccine.
Although it’s true that Pfizer and BioNTech had been working on a vaccine all year before the companies struck their deal with the U.S. government in July, a $1.95 billion deal is nevertheless a significant incentive to keep going. In fact, international health organizations have long used such market guarantees to encourage for-profit manufacturers to supply vaccines to the developing world.
Its funny how scared Stapes is that Trump will get credit for these vaccines that might save the planet.

If you decide to make ice cream stick birdhouses, but 50 other people are also going to do it and you know there is only so much of a market for it. And then Home Depot calls up and says "I will guarantee you with the full authority and power of this corporation, to purchase 100 million of your birdhouses once we help you speed it through the emergency use process. No matter if these other companies beat you to making them or make them cheaper or whatever."
Do you think that would have an influence on your business plan?
you seem to be hung up on the point being that Pfizer "got the money". The point is that the US Government made an agreement that locked up 100 million doses with an option for another 500 million doses. For the first approved vaccine. And the US Government has a contract with Pfizer that says that. So, no matter what bidding war some other countries start to try to get in front of us, they can't. You can split hairs about which bank the money is in or who has it in their account, but the fact of the matter remains the same. We get a minimum of 100 million doses and up to 500 million from that one source.Stapes wrote: ↑Thu Dec 03, 2020 3:50 pmAnimal wrote: ↑Thu Dec 03, 2020 3:48 pmhairs have been split.
