The remarks are said to have occurred on the Trump appointee’s recent Zoom call with British officials.

“There is a growing body of evidence that the lab is likely the most credible source of the virus,” Pottinger noted. according to the Daily Mail.

Pottinger continued, noting the World Health Organization’s (WHO) probe to discern the origins of COVID-19 is a ruse and that the pathogen likely escaped through “‘leak or an accident.”

He encouraged British Members of Parliament (MP) to help expose the Chinese Communist Party’s role in manufacturing the virus, downplaying the wet market theory as being “openly dismissed” by “establishment figures in Beijing:

1.Karen's going to Karen regardless of the country. Some people are assholes, some are hermits and some are Karen's. You should get used to it. Nothing too sinister going on.

2.They were arrested for acting like idiots when cops showed up to do their jobs. In America cops kill people for doing less. They also admit that they knew they were breaking the order but figured the cops would just break up the gathering and let them off with a warning. Which they probably would have done (or probably fined them) if there weren't adults hiding in the living room with the lights off and doing other stupid shit. The woman being told to shut up by one of the males in the home because she was making things worse tells a lot about who started this or why the cops reacted the way shown on the video. I find it hard to believe that 88% of Canadians believe their country is doing a Good Job in their coronavirus response if this is the norm up North.

British PM Johnson: Stricter Lockdown Restrictions Likely on the Way

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson said on Sunday tougher lockdown restrictions were probably on the way as COVID-19 cases keep rising, but that schools were safe and children should continue to attend where permitted.
COVID-19 cases in Britain are at record levels and the increase in numbers is fueled by a new and more transmissible variant of the virus. The government has canceled the planned reopening of schools in and around London but teaching unions want wider closures.

Much of England is already living under the toughest level of restriction under a four-tier system of regional regulations designed to stop the spread of the virus and protect the national healthcare system.

But, asked in a BBC interview about concerns that the system may not be enough to bring the virus under control, Johnson said restrictions "alas, might be about to get tougher."

"There are obviously a range of tougher measures that we would have to consider ... I'm not going to speculate now about what they would be," he said.

Johnson sets policy for England, with rules in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales set by their devolved authorities.

Scottish leader Nicola Sturgeon said her cabinet would meet on Monday to discuss possible further steps to limit the spread of the virus, and ordered Scotland's parliament to be recalled.

Britain recorded 57,725 new cases of the virus on Saturday and has registered more than 74,000 deaths from the pandemic.

The government's response has been heavily criticized. But the rollout of vaccines is set to accelerate on Monday with the first 530,000 doses of the newly approved Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccines ready to be administered, Johnson said.

WHO chief says China blocking probe into origins of COVID-19

The head of the World Health Organization on Tuesday accused China of hampering its investigation into the origins of the coronavirus pandemic by failing to grant international experts permission to enter the country as part of their examination.

WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said he is “disappointed” by Beijing’s stalling and noted that the members of the international scientific team have begun leaving their home countries in the past day under an agreement between WHO and the Communist Chinese government.

“Today, we learned that Chinese officials have not yet finalized the necessary permissions for the team’s arrival in China,” Tedros said during a news conference in Geneva.

“I’m very disappointed with this news, given that two members had already begun their journeys and others were not able to travel at the last minute, but had been in contact with senior Chinese officials,” he said.

The investigators are expected to travel to Wuhan, the Chinese city where the first outbreaks of the pandemic occurred in December 2019.

LA County paramedics directed not to transport certain patients with low chance of survival

LOS ANGELES (NewsNation Now) — The agency that oversees emergency medical services in Los Angeles County has issued new directives for paramedics transporting patients in ambulances as the coronavirus pandemic places increasing pressure on Southern California hospitals’ ICU capacity.

The Los Angeles County Emergency Medical Services Agency issued multiple directives Monday, telling paramedics to stop transporting patients if they have virtually no chance of surviving, including those whose hearts and breathing have stopped and who couldn’t be resuscitated.

One directive told paramedics to not transfer patients in cardiac arrest to the hospital unless spontaneous circulation can be successfully performed in the field. Meaning, if the patient does not respond within 10 minutes of on-scene interventions, paramedics must determine them dead on the scene and not transport them to the hospital. This applies to blunt traumatic and nontraumatic cardiac arrest.


Another directive ordered ambulance crews to conserve oxygen, effective immediately. Ambulance crews will now only administer oxygen to patients whose oxygen saturation levels are below 90%. Supplies have been strained because of the pandemic.

Some older hospitals in Southern California have oxygen systems that can’t handle the demand, and the state is contracting with the Army Corps of Engineers to upgrade the systems. Giant oxygen containers may also be placed in hospital parking lots as back ups.


County health officials have expressed worry over a possible incoming surge from the Christmas and New Year’s holidays. The additional Thanksgiving cases have swamped hospitals, forcing them to treat patients in hallways, ambulances and even gift shops, and forced an oxygen shortage. The California National Guard is contributing freezer trucks to help store bodies as hospitals run out of space.

More than 22,000 were hospitalized across the state, setting another record, according to the COVID Tracking Project. California’s Department of Public Health reported that of those hospitalized, nearly 4,700 were in intensive care units.

Most of the state’s population remains under a broad stay-at-home order as ICU capacity dwindles. In hard-hit Los Angeles County, the total COVID-19 death toll has reached 10,850, and confirmed cases topped 818,000. The county reported more than 7,700 people hospitalized, including 21% in ICUs.

This comes as the state is trying to execute the massive immunization campaign “with a sense of urgency that is required of this moment and the urgency that people demand,” but so far only about 1% of California’s 40 million residents have been vaccinated, Gov. Gavin Newsom said.

The 454,000 doses of vaccine that have been administered in California represent just a third of the more than nearly 1.3 million received in the state so far, according to the California Department of Public Health.

Across the country, the pace of immunizations has gone slower than planned due to logistical hurdles and differing approaches across states and counties. On Monday, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said nearly 4.6 million shots have been dispensed.

While the state wants to make sure no one is jumping ahead in the line, Newsom said he wants to give providers the flexibility to distribute doses to people not on the priority list if doses are at risk of going to waste.

“We are working hard to make sure that 100% of what we get, we get out as quickly as possible,” Dr. Mark Ghaly, secretary of the California Health and Human Services Agency, said.

Overall, California has more than 2.45 million confirmed coronavirus cases and almost 27,000 deaths, according to data complied by Johns Hopkins University.
