Yea, next time I lock my keys in the car I'll just pull out that spare roll of masking tape out of the trunk...

I wonder if this screws with the window roller assembly, at least on certain cars?

And no, my Prius will not allow the doors to lock by the fob if it's still inside the car.
The car has to be off and the fob outside the car for the fob to lock the doors.
The only way I can see this being useful for a Prius is if I can't find my keys and still need to get inside the car.
But I'd still worry about badly the roller assembly will get fucked up by doing this "trick".
