I'm not a huge Cars fan but I know that when I was a kid just looking at that album cover gave me instant wood.

The Cars were one of those bands that, while I could listen to their songs a time or two, they kind of all started to sound the same after awhile. Much like U-2, once you heard one of their songs, you pretty much heard them all.
That said, I appreciated Benjamin Orr a lot as a bass player and singer.

But... you can't see her ass?
I too thought this post was about Lightning McQueen.

my only memory of the Cars was from the MTV glory days. I thought that guy was the weirdest looking dude I had ever seen.

i wish i could find a clip of a video that used to play on MTV. I have no idea the name of the band. It was german or something. The singer was a chic and she had one side of her head shaved. She was in a really short T-shirt type dress and was on her knees singing. We didn't have a way to record or rewind or pause or anything back then.
shit, i can't believe i remembered this video.

I still have their first two albums in original vinyl. They got a bit too poppy after that.
The leader and main composer, Ric Ocasek, said the band members called him Ric Sarcastic.
He married:
Couple of years ago, there was some reference to the Band "Cars" my dad saw on TV. He asked if I knew the band - hell yeah. Hooked my speakers up so he could hear the sound. He was impressed. Mentioned the lead singer (ugly like they all are) married a Super model. Married for 35 years. Saw the news a year or 2 ago they were divorcing. I was bummed out.

Billy Joel/ Christie Brinkley, for example.

Loved the sound back in the 70/80's. You can debate whether you liked it or not, not doubt it was unique.[[/url]

Good studio band. They were garbage live.
Probably. Awesome sound on the records and never saw them on the national tour. Not the first band that experienced that problem.
