Ending of Newhart, when Bob wakes up next to Emily, his wife from the Bob Newhart Show, only to realize the entire series was just a weird dream.

I think it is still the largest TV audience to view a finale live.

I noticed that as well. It was a pretty convoluted plan. What happened if they parked the car far away? But I was so invested in the story and characters by that point that I was able to suspend disbelief enough to enjoy it.
