We are thinking a truck camper or trailer because you can still use the truck when not camping, as opposed to an an RV. I would like to tow the boat occasionally, so likely a camper, anyone have one? Or suggestions? Pros or cons? Don’t give a shit?
Re: Now that the nest is officially empty, wife and I are considering an RV or truck camper? Anyone have one of those?

Hey, Gunz! Don't be such a stranger, come visit more often!
On topic: I have no opinion, really. If it's just the two of you, a trailer camper, as you'll have some utilities (stove, potty, decent bed, etc) you won't get with a truck bed camper. Unless you're pulling a boat big enough to have a stove/potty while it's floating, or safe enough to use while it's on the trailer.

The wife and I are having similar discussions, but we are for sure going the RV route, a smaller one.

Actually the truck campers have showers and bathrooms now if you go hardtop. That is what I want. I would not bother of there wasn’t a flushable toilet and shower. And they have queens sized beds.
Trust is the dilemma. And thanks for the kind hello.
Here is the inside of the one we are looking at... it is a lance 865
and this is my truck.

Well, shit, I never knew they were coming to be that big.
How much would something like that cost? That might be something my wife and I could consider for ourselves.
edit: did you meant to include a pic of your truck?

RV. Grandparents used to have one. If they needed a car or truck, they towed it.

We have a 38' Aspen Trail. I think it's a bit of overkill, but my wife loves it.

You can probably find one cheap in Florida, just may have to scrape a skeleton wearing the remnants of a UJ t-shirt off the floor.
Bonus is the new shitter macerator should be gently used. (bonus callback)

We have a 45 foot fifth wheel trailer that we mostly just use on our mountain lot for the summer, but we love it, it’s like home away from home. We used to have a motorhome and I towed my jeep behind that so we would have something to drive, but I like this set up much better. I would suspect that all of the folks that bought camping trailers to occupy their Covid time, there’s probably gonna be a large percentage of those that decided it’s not for them and be selling them this spring, I would be on the lookout for those. Gently used is really a good direction to go as far as buying a camper or trailer, because quality control in that industry is not great. If you have one that somebody’s already worked a few of the kinks out of, you’re good to go.

$30,000 seems like a lot of money that could go toward some nice hotel or AirBnB.

Agreed, those get old with the cleaning and maintenance. Isn't Gunzen sick with something? Hooking that thing to the truck and driving far distances and storing it. Wanna RV vacation? Go rent one and give it back when your done.

We just bought the 865. And it takes about 10 minutes to load. We have three acres. So storage is not an issues. I really don’t want to go to RV sites per se. we just wish to be able to go places and camp but not pitch a tent or shower on athletes foot.
I love the outdoors. And camping lakeside in my RV facing the waste is heaven.

Didn't realize it was that simple, you had to buy a truck as well. What did you spend all in?

Well the truck was a miracle. I got an F-250 Lariat that The carfax said was worth 30k from an one guy in my neighborhood for 18k.
So all in with all the extra shit we will be hitting the road in for about 60k.
Yeah, I didn’t I would it was that easy either.

I am going to suggest that you don't face it toward the waste. You might enjoy it more.
