A few years ago they started a mens roller derby league in Montreal. I don't see the attraction.....
Remember the old roller derby? When I was first learning to roller skate I used to pretend I was Charlie O'Connell. He was like the king of the roller derby circuit. As for the new derby, when the women started some years ago they wanted my son to be a referee/just be involved in someway and he turned them down. I told him it sounds like fun.He asked me if I had seen any of them and I hadn't,he said "most of them look like they could kick my ass",and this was when he was working out pretty heavily. They then started coming to the roller rink and practicing there and I then saw them, and yeah, some of them look pretty tough. Now the jr. derby girls, that's a different story....

Anyone from the Houston area will remember this fine fellow for several things: "SLIME in the ICE MACHINE", the "roach and rat report" on channel 13 news, and being the basis for the Melvin P Thorpe character in Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. And had been a champion twirler in high school. One cool and quiet motherfucker in real life.
