I'm not aware of it ever being done or tried. The data would be amazing to look at. See if they really drilled up to the edge of the lease.

Not for that purpose. It's probably too slow drilling to need "real time" capability to be anywhere cost effective. I'm thinking when they are drilling through promising shale formations. Those are like layers of pancakes stacked on top of each other. Horizontal drillers brag about their accuracies, but I question that. Real time 3D S while drilling through a rich formation could mean something like a 500 barrel increase in production for a year or 2. Do the math at current prices to figure that benefit.

The use high strength steel pipe, but the changes are so minor and over such long distances that the pipe bends similar to how a train navigates a gradual curve in a train track. The pipe is stiff, but it is thin, so it can make a gradual curve over a distance.

No sympathy from me to anyone who still continues to smoke these days and complains about the price of a pack or a carton of cancer sticks.

We all know it's a filthy and awful habit that does not do one single good thing for the health of your body. Literally money up in smoke. You smell awful with your breath and on your clothes. You can't breathe worth a shit, not even from a single flight of stairs. You are the reason you can look at any random patch of ground and see cig butts. You pollute the air for everyone around you. You can't go a whole work shift without a half-dozen smoke breaks, and you feel entitled to them when your non-smoking work partners get yelled at for taking time for a cup of water or a piss. Then you have the gall to complain you can't feed your kids, cuz well: a loaf of bread and a couple cans of soup, or another pack of cigs, your choice.

Wanna have an extra eight bucks in your pocket in your day? Quit, and tell the tobacco industry to shove their ill-gotten gains. Till then, no pity from me about either the price or the consequences of your nicotine habit. And yea, I'm an ex smoker, I know all the arguments you spew to defend that habit. I still hear them all from my family, almost to a person all cigarette smokers.
