Re: Map Porn
For such a relatively short road, it can't be over-exaggerated how important I-4 is to the Central Florida region. It's essentially our life's blood to move shit around. Without it, the general Orlando area would still be a citrus and cattle town.
By the way, don't Hawaii and Alaska have "inter"state roads?
edit: yes, they do!

If you can't be a good example, you can still serve as a horrible warning.

Re: Map Porn
Florida is at or near the bottom for a lot life and economic indicators.
The weather really is the reason most people move here, then they learn how shitty most jobs pay here and that they probably won't be able to afford a house. Or if they can, won't be able to afford the insurance and upkeep. How awful the roads and traffic are. How upside-down the cost of living here is. And how tragically lost our state congress is on how an average resident manages.
*Then* to learn how crappy the weather is, any way: a few nice weeks in early Spring, a few nice weeks in late Autumn, and hot and rainy or cold and rainy it is the rest of the year, not including hurricanes and tornadoes. Wonderful beaches? Well, if you can get access to them.

Re: Map Porn
that's a great take on your state, Eeyore. I was more thinking about all of the tourist industry that has to bring in big bucks. Between the beaches and amusement parks and the number of months that people can go there, it just seems that it would contribute more to the GDP per capita than Wyoming.QillerDaemon wrote: ↑Fri Apr 01, 2022 2:06 pm Florida is at or near the bottom for a lot life and economic indicators.

Does Florida actually make anything? Or is it just a tourism and retirement state?Animal wrote: ↑Fri Apr 01, 2022 3:00 pmthat's a great take on your state, Eeyore.
