Rumor is that he's a douchebag but Sebastian Bach had pipes

Yes, the song is WAY overplayed. That cant change the fact that Steve Perry's vocals are just pure perfection in this song. The outro ad libs are amazing

Eddie Trunk seems to like him. His bandmates in Skid Row, apparently not so much.
P.S. Apparently it's never a wise thing to bad mouth Kiss to Bach. He's a fanatic fan apparently (tons of collectibles according to Trunk), and someone in the band went and did it.

Jim Steinman is my favorite songwriter. Ever.
There, I said it.
His most successful chart singles include Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart", Air Supply's "Making Love Out of Nothing at All", Meat Loaf's "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)", the Sisters of Mercy's "This Corrosion" and "More", Barry Manilow's "Read 'Em and Weep", Celine Dion's cover of "It's All Coming Back to Me Now" (originally released by Steinman's project Pandora's Box)
Well that just fucking schooled me.

Never judge a book by it's cover.
Thanks for this RD, its officially what I learned today.

The best duet ever written in this genre in my opinion, sung by the best two singers born to sing it! Even Pavarotti could not out do Bocelli on this one I believe.

This YT vid explains how Hatfield's voice was so spot-on during the whole song. He apparently had a sore throat, and his mother was in the audience and he didn't want to disappoint her.Animal wrote: ↑Wed May 04, 2022 8:53 pmthey could also moderate the volume of their voice by how they held the microphone.woohooguy wrote: ↑Wed May 04, 2022 8:36 pmI've always thought some of the vocal shift of great vocalists from the past had something to do with the microphone. Artists still prefer the old microphone designs for tone but there something about the elite vocalists of the era that just made the inner workings vibrate in a different way that gave that haunting depth of their vocals.
If you can't be a good example, you can still serve as a horrible warning.

Re: Greatest Vocal Performance of All Time - Nominations
And we all have our own opinions on what is a great vocal performance. I love Johnny Mathis, possibly the greatest pop singer ever:
