No one but me knows who she is, but I've seen her 4 times. The last time was Levon Helms Studio last summer, God her voice is so fucking incredible. She's got new stuff out now too. I almost shit bricks every time she likes what I say on IG

I've always thought some of the vocal shift of great vocalists from the past had something to do with the microphone. Artists still prefer the old microphone designs for tone but there something about the elite vocalists of the era that just made the inner workings vibrate in a different way that gave that haunting depth of their vocals.
