Looks like President Dipshit missed the point entirely"What in God's name do you need an assault weapon for unless to kill someone?" Biden asked. "Deer aren't running through the forest with Kevlar vests on for God's sake."

America is broken. And it's not going to be fixed because no one will do anything to fix it. It's all thoughts and prayers, but no action.kwebber wrote: ↑Wed May 25, 2022 8:36 amGod damn you FSchmertz, I came back here to post that exact comment.
Moar gunz!!
Also, it's not surprising to see the same fucking morons here making the same shitty arguments. Who gives a fuck whether the shooter Dem or Rep? Does it matter to those kids? Does it matter to those people shopping last week? No one here should be shocked. Absolutely nothing will change, expect more mass shootings like this. T's and P's, amirite?
Or maybe it was a false flag?!?!? Crisis actors!!

Everybody seems to have an opinion but no one is giving answers. What would be your concrete solution to the problem?

Re: Way to go Texas
Texas Republicans have already stated there will be no new gun control laws enacted. Nope to a simple one that an 18yo can't buy any kind of rifle.
But they certainly believe passing draconian laws against abortion rights will certainly keep women from getting one somehow.
For reference, I am a 2A supporting left-winger, though I'm not convinced the 2A reads exactly how we try to interpret it.
And it wasn't an "assault or military style" rifle, there is no such thing. Either it is, or it isn't, looks mean nothing. It is relatively easy to make an AR-15 look like an air rifle. An AR-15 may look like a fully automatic rifle, but it can't be physically converted into one.
Yet for some reason the Republicans there believe arming teachers (very few want it) or having armed cops (who typically scatter away) will prevent these kinds of horrors in schools. Basically "thoughts and prayers", but no real action. They aren't actually concerned with other people's children.

If you can't be a good example, you can still serve as a horrible warning.

Re: Way to go Texas
Sure it will, until some other kind of catastrophic event happens (something besides an armed shooter), and several hundred children and teachers are jammed up into that one point of entry. But we'll trust that an armed shooter will respect the one point of entry and give up. Ever been to a modern school campus? Even building an enormous dome over the entire campus including any sports fields would hardly keep a person from finding someway onto the campus. Every little bit helps, except of course, some reasonable gun purchase restrictions.

Do really think SD is looking for solutions that does not include infringing upon the Second Amendment?BigRedRetard wrote: ↑Wed May 25, 2022 3:09 pmMultiple points of exit?

See, here's the thing. If you think that an armed shooter can penetrate any kind of enormous dome or armed guard entry or any other type of obstacle, then what makes you think a "reasonable gun purchase restriction" is going to stop him? Why is he so devious and smart when it comes to one thing and yet so meek when it comes to the purchase restrictions.QillerDaemon wrote: ↑Wed May 25, 2022 3:12 pmSure it will, until some other kind of catastrophic event happens (something besides an armed shooter), and several hundred children and teachers are jammed up into that one point of entry. Face it, if laws would solve this problem, then we could just pass a law that says its illegal to enter a school and kill people.

Economically speaking, pollution is a good thing. Not that pollution itself is good, but it's an externality of modern industry and indicates that given our current level of technology, pollution is indicative of economic growth, therefore a non-zero level of pollution is optimal.
Turns out, "healthy" American culture comes with another externality with an optimal non-zero occurrence rate. Any guesses what that is?

It's a good thing Texas outlawed abortion. They're going to have lots of kids to replace.QillerDaemon wrote: ↑Wed May 25, 2022 3:04 pm Texas Republicans have already stated there will be no new gun control laws enacted. Nope to a simple one that an 18yo can't buy any kind of rifle.
