All the news from the peanut gallery and where all the nasty trash talk fails miserably.

How do relieve them?
I've always used a spoon of sugar.
That's not working, any suggestions?

In our family we have someone get face to face, make eye contact and say "tell me when you're gonna hiccup next" and just stand and wait with the occasional "now? How bout now?".
What if it was one guy with six guns?

Breath in a paper bag to increase your CO2. The paper part is important don’t use plastic.

If that fails a massive dose of laxities, you’ll be afraid to hiccup

This is what I do, except in a reverse way: I empty my lungs as much as possible, breathing out, then hold my breath. This relaxes the diaphragm, while sucking in breath tightens it. Then I try to relax myself and have quiet gentle mental moments. I get vicious "double and triple" hiccups which really start to hurt my gut and draw air into my stomach.
If you can't be a good example, you can still serve as a horrible warning.

My wife and older son have issues with hiccups and not being able to stop them. We were watching Shark Tank and saw this product. I thought what the hell and ordered two. My wife got hiccups a few days after they arrived. She tried it and it worked for her. They are pretty cheap so it may be worth a try.

I have never had issues with them. I typically average one hiccup per year. Literally, I will hiccup one time and that is it.
