It's a hard question to answer, since they're not "my guys". But I guess if we're going to pretend the riots over a dead criminal that went on all last summer and the summer before were "mostly peaceful protests", then yes, I think we should apply the same standards to the couple of dozen morons who misbehaved at the capitol.
But to answer your question: No. Obviously they didn't break a couple of windows and doors to take selfies. But that's what they wound up doing. Oh, and I guess they badly frightened blithering idiot AOC -- she was almost raped from three blocks away, after all.

Heres the problem: Your side LOVES to talk about January 6th. One fucking day. A quasi-riot that lasted a couple of hours and has seen numerous prosecutions. Yes, January 6th was wrong and no one here I believe would say different and we have no problem saying it. It seems like the the incidents referenced above get a pass from your side. You harp on one and ignore the multiple others...and theres the problem.

Jan 6th is obviouisly an attempt by the left to smear trump to the point that he can never be re-elected. They don't think there was any threat caused by Jan 6th any more than anyone else. This is the same thing they did with the pandemic. They used it to get Trump out of office. And we just have to listen to it over and over and over and over. The day we stop hearing about Jan 6th will be the day that Trump gets beat by DeSantis in the primaries. Same with how the pandemic ended when Trump lost the election.
