I get why some folks want to just forget about her. For me, its pretty simple though: As an American, even though shes a hypocritical twat, she is one of us. We should do what we can for her-as an American. Everything else about her as distasteful as it might be is secondary. If they have singled her out for her "celebrity" status then all the more reason we should fight for an unjustly held American.

We got a bunch of non-white female Principles the next year. So many of them were terrible. Many of them were "I gotta do stuff to prove I earned the job" and over did things. But she's not unjustly held. She broke the law. We are subject to the laws of the country we are in when we travel abroad, just as foreigners who come here would be subject to our laws if we actually enforced them. But since we let foreigners come here and do whatever the fuck they want with no fear of prosecution, that part of it is moot.

Yeah. From that experience back in teaching, I wasn't all hip on Joe proclaiming that he was nominating a "Black women" for Supreme court. It hurts the candidate as well. People look at them sideways because they think they got the job based on colour and gender.
But this "reverse racism" needs to play out and finish. The best person should always get the job.
