The problem is not that there is evil in the world, the problem is that there is good. Because otherwise, who would care?

Thanks but my grammar was incorrect. He was a friend to my friends. I didnt know him. But they have great things to say about him.

The latest is that his son killed him.

His band was Teenage Head. From a city outside of Toronto. Hamilton Ont.

Not sure if their success went beyond our borders.

I find it interesting how some Canadian artists become popular in the United States (Simple Plan, Rush, Alanis Morissette, Avril Lavigne, and Bryan Adam's for example), while others are, to my understanding, major superstars in Canada but pretty much unheard of here. The Tragically Hip and Rustie spring to mind. I suspect Teenage Head might fall into that category.

You are dead on. The Hip is not big down there? Practically demi-gods up here (although I was never a huge fan. Wife is).

I assume its CanCon laws. Radio has to play a certain percentage of Canadian bands, so a fair number get exposure across the country.

Yep. Thats a lot of it.
I know Teenage Head and The Hip did the University tour forever. So they had their fans and they stuck with them. Although I am sure that happens in the States.

No, they're not. Nobody I know has ever heard of them. I'm only aware of their existence because they were mentioned on Letterkenny. That got me interested enough to seek out a few of their bigger hits (In Canada, for what it's worth)... and I was completely unimpressed.
Before you get the idea that I have any kind of prejudice against Canadian music, or even non-American music in general, let me assure that is absolutely not the case. I'm a big fan of Rush, for example. I loved Simple Plan as a kid. When Alanis Morissette, Shania Twain, Sarah McLachlan, Michael Buble, or Neil Young put out new albums, I'm at the record store that day to get them. And you will find no bigger fan of Avril Lavigne anywhere on Earth. I just find the Tragically Hip to be extremely boring. They're like Jimmy Buffet: I just don't see what's appealing about them to anyone.

Shocking that anything related to Canada wouldn't register in your world.

It shouldn't be. They're an inferior country that only exists because we allow it.

Well then that sets a precedent. So anybody related to a member of Metallica, past or present, with the exception of Dave Mustaine, now has cause to kill that Metallica member.
